At Oklahoma City Zoo exhibit, it’s a bear’s life (The Oklahoman) Oklahoma Trails Exhibit, Oklahoma City ZooThere are better times to visit the Oklahoma City Zoo than on a late autumn day when the temperatures are south of freezing, when the wind turns your fingers brittle as icicles and sets your nose to dripping. As you stand outside, you can’t help but bounce up and down, urging your body to generate heat. On such days, it’s understandable to covet the … read more…

Resolved Question: Where can I find French snacks in Oklahoma?
I’m in French Club at my high school and they’re throeing a christmas party at the Underground Coffee Shop in Oklahoma, and we have to provide food to go with the coffee. Kind of like snacks. Alas I don’t know where I would be able to buy French snack food in the Mid-Del/Oklahoma City area. I actually was remembering something I had awhile ago and it was like two small, thin waffles with baked syrup tasting…filling that resembled molasses. However I can’t remember what it was called or where to get some. I think it was German actually but I’m remembering French. Regardless however I need to find a place that sells foreign foods that isn’t a restaurant. I could care less what kind of food but I would prefer French. And would GREATLY appreciate if you could somehow translate my description on the food I had mentioned before.

Resolved Question: Has your dog ever gotten sick from raw feeding?
For a few months I fed my APBT’s raw. I recently stopped when my male got bad diarrhea and I took him to the vet. Turns out they found C-Diff bacteria (apparently a very dangerous type) and the vet says she’s pretty sure it was contracted via raw meat. Now, we all know that vets aren’t necessarily the best authorities on animal nutrition and especially feeding raw. Most of them are vehemently opposed and closed-minded to it, much like their absolute views on vaccinations. I asked a good friend who has home-cooked and also fed raw for years now her opinion. She said that until here in Oklahoma City we can get a good store like Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods where you can buy good quality “safe” organic meat, it may just be safer to feed home-cooked over raw. What do you think? I just want to do the best and safest thing for my dogs. I want them to be healthy and happy and live the longest lives possible.
Please answer only if you have had experience feeding raw (whether it be bad or good) or if you’ve done solid research on it. I don’t want to hear from people who say “I’ve always fed Ol’ Roy and my dogs poop just great!”

Resolved Question: Does anyone in the Oklahoma City area want an adult orange male bearded dragon?
I have tried everything and I can’t find a home for him. I would like to sell him if I could, but am willing to consider giving him to a school teacher or something like that. He has a tank and everything, just needs food.
